This is an intensive 5-day course for professional TV & online directors to enhance production skills.
Course participants also have the unique opportunity to observe the rehearsals and recording of
a major production for TV from the Municipal Theatre of Nicosia.
COURSE MODULES
- Multi-camera TV direction techniques
- Introduction to Black Magic vision mixing
- CuePilot training & programming on a major TV show, the annual Madame Figaro Awards
PRACTICAL EXERCISES
- Planning a programme from initial idea to transmission
- Preparing running orders, shot lists, studio floor plans, camera scripts & shot cards
- Shooting a wide range of multi-camera studio sequences
- Planning the televising of major events
- All exercises are recorded and reviewed
BLACK MAGIC
KEY ELEMENTS
- Using a Black Magic mixer to full effect
PRACTICAL EXERCISES
- 3-camera sequences on Black Magic mixer
CUEPILOT
KEY ELEMENTS
- An update on the latest system software
- Viewing of recent CuePilot productions
- Planning a major production using CuePilot
- Observation of a 9-camera production with CuePilot
PRACTICAL EXERCISES
- Scripting for music
- Programming CuePilot
- Using CuePilot for multi-camera sequences
MADAME FIGARO 2023
Observation of rehearsals and as-live recording with celebrities, singers, dancers and award winners. The production uses 7 pedestal cameras, crane, Steadicam & CuePIlot to full effect on this 2-hour show.
